About The French Program
The French Program at Rutgers University–Camden offers the small setting of a liberal arts program along with the resources and affordability of a “public ivy-league”school. Its distinguished faculty provide a wide range of courses and programs covering all aspects of French language, literatures and cultures.

To learn the French language from beginning to advanced levels.
Language courses are designed for students interested in using French for business, travel, cultural knowledge, enjoyment or further study.

To discover French cultures and civilization in English.
Culture courses taught in English are open to students with no prior knowledge of the language seeking a broad liberal arts background. Many of these courses are cross-listed in other programs, such as Africana Studies, Film Studies, criminal justice, and Women’s and Gender Studies.
3. Understand
To understand French cultures and civilization in French.
Upper-level electives taught in French are accessible to advanced students, especially those with a French major or minor and those who plan for a career in education. Such courses may also interest those majoring in English, in other languages, or in related fields like art, music, history, and Global Studies.
